Before starting, make sure to knead your clay or putty thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s instructions. To achieve the best texture, flatten the surface using a smooth roller first. Depending on the material, slightly moistening the roller may help avoid sticking. Then, apply the textured roller slowly and evenly with consistent pressure to produce a uniform result. This tool works excellently with polymer clays like Fimo or Super Sculpey, which remain workable until baked. These can be textured directly on MDF bases and baked at 150°C for 15 minutes without damaging the wood.

Epoxy putties like Green Stuff and Milliput are also compatible. Green Stuff’s stickiness requires a damp roller or the addition of talcum powder or modeling vaseline. Milliput should be used with minimal moisture and can be mixed with children’s modeling clay (50/50) to reduce stickiness and improve handling. After use, thoroughly clean the roller with water and a brush pen to preserve the sharpness of the texture. This tool is not a toy and should only be used by children under adult supervision.
