For best results, smooth the surface beforehand, preferably with a smooth roller. Depending on the material, slightly moistening the roller may be necessary to prevent sticking. Rolling slowly with consistent pressure yields an even texture. Once hardened or baked, excess material can be trimmed for a clean finish.

These rollers work well with many materials, from polymer clays like Super Sculpey or Fimo to epoxy putties such as Milliput or Green Stuff. Each material requires adapted techniques to avoid sticking, including moistening, applying talc, or using modeling vaseline. Cleaning after use is essential, using a suitable brush and water. These tools should not be used by minors without adult supervision, ensuring safe use.
