This textured roller is a must-have tool for creating consistent surface patterns on various sculpting compounds, clays, or putties. Designed for 28 to 35 mm scale projects, it delivers clean, uniform textures ideal for miniature bases, terrains, or decorative panels. Made from clear, non-toxic, non-stick PMMA plastic, the roller measures 14.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in diameter, providing optimal control and comfort during use.
Before applying texture, condition your material according to the manufacturer's instructions. Spread it evenly—preferably using a smooth roller—and roll the textured tool slowly with consistent pressure. Depending on the compound, you may need to slightly moisten the roller to prevent sticking. After imprinting, allow the material to start curing before trimming any excess to maintain crisp details.
Compatible with many materials, this roller works especially well with polymer clays like Fimo or Super Sculpey, which can be baked directly on MDF bases (15 minutes at 150°C). Epoxy putties like Green Stuff or Milliput may require adjustments such as water, talcum powder, or sculpting vaseline to manage stickiness. Milliput can also be mixed 50/50 with children's modeling clay for greater flexibility. Clean thoroughly with warm water and a brush after use. This product should not be used by children without adult supervision.
