Often overshadowed by their British and Prussian allies, the Dutch and Belgian troops of the Waterloo campaign formed a crucial part of Wellington’s army in 1815, accounting for nearly a third of the Allied forces on the battlefield.
Wellington initially had doubts about some of these regiments, as many of their soldiers had previously served under Napoleon only a short time earlier. Those concerns quickly faded once the fighting began. Throughout the brutal battle of Waterloo, Dutch and Belgian infantry stood firm against repeated French assaults.
Several units even helped repel attacks by elements of the Imperial Guard during the closing stages of the battle, contributing directly to the collapse of Napoleon’s final campaign.
This boxed set allows you to field a full unit of Belgian Line Infantry for Black Powder. Cast in high-quality Warlord Resin, these miniatures combine crisp historical detail with fast assembly, making them ideal for building larger Waterloo-era formations.
The distinctive uniforms, detailed shakos and colourful standards give these troops impressive tabletop presence once assembled into battle lines.
From uncertain loyalties to steadfast defence at Waterloo, Dutch and Belgian infantry became an important part of the Allied victory over Napoleon.
