Warriors of Carthage

The set allows you to build 24 veteran Carthaginian warriors, inspired by the experienced soldiers who served under Hannibal. Their equipment combines Punic armour with captured Roman equipment, reflecting the practice of reusing battlefield trophies and giving the unit a distinctive appearance.

Supporting them are 24 Liby-Phoenician heavy infantry. These disciplined African soldiers fought in dense formations comparable to the Greek phalanx, forming one of the most dependable elements of Carthaginian armies. Their organised ranks provide a striking centrepiece for any Punic force.

The remaining 14 Libyan javelinmen represent the lighter troops that screened and supported the heavy infantry. Drawn from the Libyan tribes under Carthaginian control, they fought as agile skirmishers armed with javelins and were traditionally depicted wearing red tunics and extensive tattoos, adding further visual diversity to the army.

By combining battle-hardened veterans, disciplined heavy infantry and fast-moving skirmishers, this set captures the varied character of Carthage's military forces and provides an excellent foundation for building armies from the Punic Wars.
