The U-shaped section of this Plasticard profile provides a ready-made structural form for scratch-building, scenery and scale modelling projects. Measuring 10 x 5 mm, it can be used to create or reinforce structural elements without having to construct the U-section from multiple separate pieces.

Product Details

Made from ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), the profile is produced from a plastic widely used in modelling and miniature construction. It can be cut, shaped and bonded to suit the requirements of a project. ABS is also a thermoplastic material, meaning its shape can be modified using different heat sources when a customised form is required.

Plasticard profiles are commonly used to create architectural features, structural elements, textures and construction details for dioramas, wargaming terrain, architectural models and scratch-building projects. Cyanoacrylate adhesive is recommended for bonding ABS, although PVA or white glue can also be used, with a considerably longer drying time.

Each profile measures 25 cm (250 mm). Due to the cutting process, the ends of the profiles may show some deformation, and the U-section may not form a perfectly right angle. For this reason, each pack contains 5 + 1 profiles, providing an additional piece to account for potential cutting deformation.
