Always at the forefront of combat, the Waffen-SS units were among the best-equipped forces of the German military, even as Allied bombing campaigns severely disrupted industrial production. Thanks to superior weapons and gear, they maintained high combat effectiveness, often outmatching regular Wehrmacht troops in firepower and mobility.
Warfare in harsh winter conditions was not limited to the Eastern Front. Operations in the Ardennes and the Italian campaign also exposed troops to freezing temperatures. The winter of 1944 in Italy was the coldest in 150 years, making proper clothing essential. Waffen-SS soldiers were issued wool-lined M40 parkas and fur-lined M43 variants, available in grey, tan, or Italian camouflage patterns to blend into various environments.
This box set includes a 10-man Waffen-SS squad, ideal for historical dioramas or tabletop war games. Each figure is equipped to reflect authentic combat roles from the period:
