Sent to reinforce their struggling Italian allies against the British Commonwealth forces in North Africa, the Deutsches Afrika Korps quickly proved to be a formidable enemy. Under the legendary leadership of Erwin Rommel, they fought intense battles across Egypt and Libya, with both sides pushed to the brink. Referred to as the last "Gentleman's War", this campaign was marked by mutual respect between adversaries, whether British, Australian, Indian, or from other Allied nations.

German tactics in the desert had a powerful influence on how British armoured and infantry units operated, shaping strategies later used in Northwest Europe. Battles at El Alamein, Tobruk, and Gazala tested the skills of the Afrika Korps, with their effectiveness bolstered by the devastating use of the 8.8cm Flak gun in a direct fire role and the feared Panzer IV, known to British crews as the "Pz IV special". These confrontations forced the British High Command to adapt its tactics, ultimately contributing to Allied success in the desert war.

This set contains everything needed to assemble 30 plastic Deutsches Afrika Korps miniatures. The figures come with a range of weapon and headgear options, allowing for a variety of configurations from standard infantry to command models. Equipment includes the Kar 98K rifle, MP40 submachine gun, MG34 light machine gun, Pz 39 anti-tank rifle, 5cm light mortar, and Luger pistol. Also included are plastic bases, a full-colour waterslide decal sheet, and an assembly guide, making this box ideal for recreating battles across North Africa, Tunisia, and even into the Italian campaign.
