Before use, knead your material thoroughly according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For best results, flatten the surface first with a smooth roller. Depending on the compound, slightly moistening the roller may help reduce sticking. Roll slowly and apply even pressure to ensure consistent texturing. Polymer clays such as Fimo or Super Sculpey are particularly easy to work with, as they remain soft until baked. For textured bases, MDF wood platforms can be textured directly and baked safely at 150°C for 15 minutes without burning.

Epoxy putties like Green Stuff or Milliput also work well with these rollers, but require specific handling. Green Stuff tends to be sticky and may need water, talcum powder, or modeling vaseline to prevent sticking. Milliput should be used with minimal moisture, and if too sticky, additional kneading will reduce its tackiness. It can also be mixed 50/50 with children’s modeling clay for better workability. After each session, clean the roller thoroughly with water and a brush pen to preserve the pattern detail. For safety, these tools should not be used by minors without adult supervision.
