This textured roller is designed to imprint fine stone-like patterns into various sculpting materials such as putty, clay, or modeling pastes. Made from transparent PMMA plastic, it is non-toxic, sturdy, and naturally non-stick, making it easy to handle and clean. Measuring 14.5 cm long with a 2.5 cm diameter, it fits comfortably in hand. The engraved pattern features narrow stones sized approximately 6 x 2.5 mm—perfect for replicating cobbled paths, brick walls, or miniature scenic bases with high detail in small-scale models.
To use, first prepare your modeling compound according to the manufacturer's instructions. Spread it evenly over your working area and smooth the surface with a flat roller. Depending on the material, you may need to slightly moisten the roller to prevent sticking, especially when using sticky putties like Green Stuff. Roll slowly and evenly while applying consistent pressure for a uniform texture. Once the material is partially cured, remove any excess to refine the final look.
This roller is compatible with various sculpting materials such as polymer clays (Fimo, Super Sculpey), epoxy putties (Green Stuff, Milliput), or air-drying clays. It can be used directly on MDF bases that can be baked together with the clay at 150°C for 15 minutes. Epoxy putties don’t require baking but may need talcum powder, water, or modeling vaseline to reduce stickiness. For better workability with Milliput, mix it 50/50 with children’s modeling clay. After use, thoroughly clean the roller with water and a fine detailing brush. Not a toy—adult supervision is required when used by minors.
