This comprehensive rulebook allows players to field fleets ranging from small warships to mighty first-rate ships of the line—true giants of the seas with three decks of heavy cannons. The major naval powers of the era are fully represented, including the French, Spanish, American, and Royal Navies. The system also features historical characters and famous admirals such as Nelson and Villeneuve, along with iconic ships like HMS Victory, USS Constitution, and the imposing Santissima Trinidad.

The game also includes thirteen scenarios covering a wide range of naval operations, from merchant raids and blockade running to pitched battles and historical recreations. The climax of these engagements is the Battle of Trafalgar, one of the defining moments of naval history. A dedicated section also provides a helpful guide to sailing vessels and naval terminology, making the game accessible to new players.

The rulebook includes an exclusive miniature available only through the webstore: the Sea Wolf, a 28mm character armed with a pistol and a dagger strapped to his arm. This fierce fighter is the perfect introduction to boarding actions in the world of Black Seas.
