These textured rollers are ideal tools for shaping and imprinting patterns onto all types of putties, clays, and sculpting pastes. Made from transparent PMMA plastic, they feature a non-stick surface that prevents material from clinging, making them easy to use across various modeling mediums. Non-toxic and sturdy, the roller measures 14.5 cm in length and 2.5 cm in diameter, offering precision handling for fine miniature details, base building, or terrain sculpting.
To use the roller, first knead your clay or putty thoroughly, following the manufacturer’s instructions. Spread the material on a flat surface and even it out—preferably using a plain roller first. Depending on the substance, lightly moistening the textured roller may help prevent sticking. Roll it slowly and evenly with consistent pressure to achieve a uniform texture. Once completed, excess material can be trimmed after curing or baking.
This roller is compatible with polymer clays such as Fimo and Super Sculpey, as well as epoxy putties like Milliput and Green Stuff. Polymer clays can be textured directly on MDF bases and baked at 150°C for 15 minutes. Green Stuff may require some water, talc, or modeling vaseline to reduce stickiness. Milliput works well when mixed with children’s modeling clay (50/50) for easier handling. Always clean the roller with water and a soft brush after use. Not suitable for children without adult supervision.
