With a 0.5 mm thickness and a 2 mm width, this profile strikes a useful balance between fine construction and clearly defined surface detail. Its consistent rectangular section can be used to create strips, borders, divisions, reinforcement and other modelling features where a little more visual presence is required without adding excessive depth.
Made from uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride), the profile combines durability with easy handling. It can be cut and sanded without difficulty, allowing it to be adapted to the dimensions required for a particular build. The material also has very low thermal and electrical conductivity, alongside good resistance to degradation and wear.
This Plasticard is suitable for a wide variety of applications, from fantasy and military modelling to slot car conversions, scale model construction and scratch-building. It can be painted with modelling paints, making it a practical material for custom construction and modifications where clean, consistent lines are important. It is also resistant to acetone and suitable for indoor or outdoor applications.
The profiles can be bonded with cyanoacrylate adhesives or Plastic Skull Glue. Each pack contains 10 profiles measuring 250 mm, providing plenty of material for repeated detailing work as well as larger scratch-building projects.
